Library of Sant Marta, Verona

Sant Marta is one of the oldest building in the city of Verona. Currently, the department of economy of the University of Verona holds in this building without damaging to the original structure of the building. As a previous student of the university of Verona, I would like to provide some information about the library of Sant Marta “Biblioteca di Sant Marta”.

This is a huge and well-established library, which is located at the top/ third floor of the university building. Even if, it was open for the students in 2015/2016, the library is enriched withlotof valuable and ancient books, which are highly useful in studies.whole library contains several areas such as studying area, computer area and thousands of books, which are so valuable and ancient.

Whole body and the structure of the library

If I describe the whole body and the structure of the library, the library has divided in to 6 sections/ halls namely, A, B, C, D, E, F. when you enter to the library from the entrance, you can find hall A at the left corner of the building, where you can find different types of magazines from 2012, which are useful for your studies and researches. Even though, you can find the magazines from 2012 in section A, you can find other older magazines when you request from the library office, which is located at the right side from the entrance and behind the section E. Besides that, there are some tables and chairs, which are more appropriate for group studies and discussions in section A.

Right after the hall A, you can see a well-arranged area for studies with tables and the and the book racks. This will be hall B and you can study their either individually or as a group. You can use your laptops and other devices in this section since there are facilities to recharge your electronic devices. Even if, it is essential to maintain the silence since there are lot of student, who are doing their studies.  At the end of these two halls (A andB) you can find café machines and the bathroom, you can use this area around the café machines to have some snacks since eating in the library area is highly prohibited.

Right after the hall B, you can see Hall C and hall D. Hall D is arranged with book racks, My BIB, photocopy machine and the computers, where you can use the computers for studies. You can log into these computer with your university credentials. My BIB was established recently in the library. But, it is very important since you can use it for barrowing the books from the library. Previously, it was done at the library counter/ office. But now it is fully automated. You just have to bring your university ID card and fallow the instruction, which are indicated by the MY BIB. But before that, you should confirm your data for MY BIB through online. Then you can barrow the books for few days. During the exam season, some of the necessary books for the exams are not permitted to barrow. You can identify these books quickly since there is a red colour sticker on the top of these books. But you can use them, when you go to the library.

When you return the books, you do not have to waste your time to hand over the books to the library office. You just can keep the books in red colour carts.

Then from your right-hand side, you can find hall E and F. Hall F is well organized with tables to studies and book racks.Whole library provides more than 300 space/ capacity for students. Atthe bothend of the library you can find café machines and the bathrooms.

All the books are well arranged and kept in the proper place. So, if you have the collocation/ number of the book, then you can find them easily. But in any case, if you could not find them, then you can ask the help from the library office. Besides that, there is an application call OPAC, where you can find online. You can use this application to reserve the books, find the collocations of the relevant books and also to check the availability of the books.

This library is modern and more comfortable for your studies. So, if you go to the university, you can use this library and enjoy your studies.
