The Barnes and Noble bookstore
I am a big bookworm, and I frequently visit different bookstores to get an idea of what new books are currently popular, so I can look for them at my local library. And one of my favourite bookstores here in the United states of America, other than 2nd and Charles, is definitely Barnes and Noble. Why? Well, this is why I decided to write this blog post - so you can read all about this amazing bookstore and my reasons why I like it!

Books, books and more books
Because Barnes and Noble is a bookstore, they are focusing mainly on selling books. And I am impressed about the variety of different genres offered in there. From standard romantic novels, to mysteries, travel guidebooks, more spiritually focused books, and so on. I am also positively surprised how fast they get newly released books. And when they know that a soon to be released book is going to be a bestseller, you can get on the waiting listto receive the book among the first people, without having to wait for that book to be back in stock.
It might seem small on the outside, but every Barnes and Noble bookstore that I have visited, surprised me in terms of how big it is and therefore how many things can you find in there.
Some of the newer books are situated on a special display so they catch your attention right away.
Gifts and kitschy items
Yes, they have that too. Coffee mugs, water bottles with literary motives, you name it. They also have a wide variety of cool party games, such as Cards against humanity, Exploding kittens and so on. I love that kind of games, because you can really get some good laughs out of them, especially after you have already had a few drinks.
They also sell action figures and other collectible items, T - shirts and socks. Oh, and have you ever done an adult colouring book? If not, do yourself a favour and get yourself one. You have to be super precise in colouring the spaces in, and the whole experience is super relaxing. They also have an edition with curse words in it, if you are having a bad day. Or week.
How about a cute book bag or backpack? This is a perfect gift for a bookworm. You know, you can gift it to yourself as well!
Home decor
Next to the cash registers, you will find some home decor items. Some of them are just regular posters, but some are actual framed pictures, which make a nice gift, if you are out of ideas on what to buy someone. Some of the frames have inspirational quotes, and they are all cute and colourful. The most popular one is definitely the one with the quote ‘live, laugh, love’ - I wanted to get it several times, but it is always out of stock.

Snacks
You can also get some snacks at Barnes and Noble, and, believe it or not, you can eat them in the Barnes and Noble’s reading corner! Of course you have to pay for them first, but if you are planning on reading for longer period of time, then you can definitely take an advantage on that twix bar on sale.
The ‘sale’ section
Barnes and Noble is not a very expensive bookstore. But to make your experience there even cheaper, make sure you browse through their sale section. In there, you can find items for as low as 75 percent off the original price! And do not worry, these items are brand new, just like everything else in the store, they are just making room for new items.
Autographed books
Barnes and Noble has a special section, dedicated to autographed books, and these books are not much more expensive than the same book that is not autographed. And the selection of autographed books is pretty impressive, and each title has a few books in stock, not just one. Go check it out, maybe you will be lucky and you will score a cheap autographed book by your favourite author.
The reading corner
One of the best parts of the Barnes and Noble bookstore is its reading corner. It is situated at the very back of the store, so you are not bothered by too many people passing by, and you can basically read any book there without having to but it. Pretty awesome, right? I wonder if the staff would kick me out if I arrived as soon as the store opens and read a book all day, or until I am done with it.
A few words for the end…
As you can see, Barnes and Noble is definitely not your typical bookstore. They are also selling gifts, food and other stuff that you do not usually find in bookstores, and they even have a reading corner. That gives Barnes and Noble feeling of a little library, and apparently, reading there is pretty popular, because every time I visit this bookstore, the reading corner is occupied. Well, I can understand that. The chairs are super comfortable!
