Cream and Curd Tart: Easy and Quick!
Well, tonight I'm sharing an easy recipie with you guys which my mum makes. It's delicious, easy and very fast to prepare! It's also very economic, I hope you like it! I love it.
Firstly, we can half all the quantities (which is what the photo's show), in the end it's less thick, but that is what I was aiming for.
What do we need? Ingredients:
-
1 litre of liquid cream
-
4 packets of powdered milk. I used this one:
-
750ml of milk.
-
1 cup of sugar, preferably sugar cane or brown sugar. I used this one:
-
A little bit of butter to grease the baking tin.
-
"María" biscuits or sponge. These are widly known in Spain and many places around Europe. If you can't find these use the simplist biscuits that you can find in your local supermarket. This is a photo of "María" biscuits.
-
Liquid caramel for decoration. I used this one:
Preporation, let's get the ball rolling!
Put the milk and sugar in a pot and mix with a handwhisk until the sugar has melted. Put the cream in another pot, turn on the gas and when it has heated up a little, start adding the sugar and milk mix. Don't stop mixing until it starts to boil as shown in the picture below:
Putting this mixture aside, butter a cake tin well and evenly and then pour the caramel onto the base.
Here we can see the butter and caramal that are underneath the biscuits.
Cover the surface with the biscuits as shown. One layer should be enough.
The moment has arrived to pour everything we have cooked ontop, be carful as it is hot! Like this:
Covering well the entire surface.
I overdid it a bit as the biscuits were floating at the beginning, but it doesn't matter, you can carefully push them back to the bottom, whilst trying not to break them!
To finish, pour some more caramel over the surface as you like.
Now we must wait a bit until it cools down. When it has reached room tempeture, we can put it in the fridge for a couple of hours or until set.
When it is cold, we remove it from the baking tray and serve, we will have to turn it upside down onto a plate in order to do this. This is how it turned out for us:
At this point, we can garnish it with more caramel, deponding on how we like it:
We then leave it in the fridge so it keeps until we eat it! Very smooth and delicious, I highly recommend!
In this recipie I halfed the quantities, so that it would be less thick. If I had made it with the quantities stated in the recipie the consistancy would have doubled.
We can also add a layer of forest fruits or peach jam to this recipie... according to your tastes. You would only need to recover it with jam and it would be ready! Very easy and tasty, I would love if anyone who has made or tried it would leave a comment.
A shout-out to everyone and good night! :) Until the next post!
