First Thursdays

First Thursdays was definetly one of my favorite events in Cape Town. Every first Thursday of the month, the city bowls' art galleries open their doors untill late. Some galleries even open a pop-up kitchen so you can dine whilst looking at your favorite painting. However most of them just offer wine or other drinks, many of the places hired deejays to make you enjoy the night even more.

The 'First Thursdays' website has a map where you can find all the participating stores, but you can also get a printed version at your first stop. My advice, take a map to be sure, but just stroll trough the city and let the crowds lead you. Litterally every participation location will be packed with people, often standing on the streets chatting and enjoying their first thursdays.
