Spaghetti with tuna
Hello to all lovers of cooking! Today I want to teach you how to make one of the easiest and most simple recipes to do, without doubt it is a dish that will save you the difficulty when you want to cook something quick and delicious.
In Peru we know this dish as spaghetti with tuna and we actually say that it isn’t a Peruvian dish but it is fast food that we make when we want to fill up.
Like the majority of pastas this dish should be eaten when you have just cooked it because if you don’t then the texture won’t be the same. It takes less that 15 minutes to make it.
Here is my photo of this dish:
This dish is one that my mum calls ‘lazy food’ because it is so simple and you put in so little time, the only Peruvian touch that it has, is that you can add parboiled potato as a little side when your serving it and you could also do spicy rocoto pepper sauce with a drop of lemon but that is optional since you can eat it on its own, but if you do choose to add it, it is delicious!
Without more introduction, let’s start with the recipe of "tuna spaghetti".
Here are the ingredients:
- Spaghetti (if it is only for yourself use a quarter of a packet)
- 1 tin of tuna
- A spoonful of butter
- 1 egg per person
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- A splash of olive oil for the spaghetti
- Optional
- Parboiled potatoes split between 2 people to go on the side (in Peru you don’t eat spaghetti alone, we always eat it with something else including chicken)
Preparation
- It is very simple, first boil the water in a pot for the spaghetti, when it is boiled add the spaghetti with a touch of salt for about 10-15 minutes maximum.
- Then in a pot of your choice put the butter (a spoonful or one and a half spoonfuls), and once it is melted open the tin of tuna and add it with a wooden spoon, little by little.
- Boil the potato in a little pot with salt (it is optional if the spaghetti is enough).
- When the spaghetti is done, you should strain it and put it in the pot with the tuna and start to mix it together with a fork, then break the egg and this will cover the spaghetti and when you see that the egg is cooked, your done!
As you can see it is very easy and quick so I encourage you to try it. My mum knows it as lazy food for being extremely quick and delicious. I hope that you like this recipe. Until the next one and thanks a lot for reading!
