How do I enter?

It’s easy! Just write on about any of the following topics (even better - about all of them!):

  • Places of interest
  • Erasmus experiences
  • Traditions and customs
  • Your hometown
  • Hidden places
  • Traditional recipes

Please read our Competition’s Conditions below.

You can contribute by sharing the following type of content:

Suggestions and examples of articles you can use for inspiration:

  • You can enter this Competition only if you have a native level in at least one of the following languages: Español, English, Français, Italiano, Português, Polski, Türkçe, Deutsch, Nederlands. To create high quality contents, you should be writing in your native language.
  • You cannot publish the same content in different languages. Our team will take care of translating the best content.
  • Important: use subheadings, headings, words in bold and lists to make sure that your text is easy to follow. Avoid spelling and grammar mistakes. Remember to follow our style guide.
  • Attention! You should write entirely original texts. They cannot appear on any other website, including your personal blogs. All published content is carefully verified by us to make sure that it has not been copied from another source, so play fair!
  • You can only write about places you have visited yourself. Don’t just go to Wikipedia, read about a place and then modify the text to use it as your own. Describe the places in your own words, expressing your own opinion and write about your personal experiences.
  • You can only use your own photos or free copyright pictures (which can be downloaded from websites such as Pixabay, Freeimages, Unsplash, etc.)

How do you gain points?

You can see the ranking in the column on the right hand side. The points are awarded automatically in the following way:

  • 1 point for every 10 characters written.
  • 3 points for every person that reads your content (one visit per person for each post). Share your posts on Facebook, Twitter, Whats App, email them to your friends etc.
  • 50 extra points (max) for adding at least 4 photos.

There is a daily limit of 5,000 points that you can receive for the characters you have written. That's why, it is best to write every day! Don't leave it to the last minute!

Points can also be awarded for the quality of the written content, so remember to follow our style guide. At the end of the competition we will give extra points to the finalists who followed our style guide. All points gathered by the finalists will be added up and 50% of this total will be distributed among them as extra points, based on how well they have written.

Reasons for disqualification:

We revise all of the published content and whoever has not followed our rules will be disqualified. Play fair.

You can get disqualified if:

  • You are copying texts directly from other pages.
  • You are writing long articles with little information just to get more points. Long posts with no useful information will not be taken into account
  • You are copying and editing opinions about places in order to make them seem like your own. We call this ‘Copy and Edit’ method and it can be easily spotted as the content reads like an encyclopaedia: loads of dates, names, and facts and not many of your own opinions or personal experiences which we are looking for.
  • You are producing poor quality texts as you are not writing in your native language.
  • You are using photos that are copyrighted.
  • You are writing about places you haven’t actually been to. We’re looking for real experiences!

In terms of trying to gain points for visits, you can also be disqualified:

  • If we find out you are using proxies or any other programme to simulate views.
  • If we detect short visits, suggesting the content has been viewed for the sole purpose of increasing the number of views. Visits must last at least 1 minute.
  • If you are using any other illegitimate way in order to increase your visits.
