The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all  doing just fine! I am fine, too.

Now I want to tell you about my another recipe, which I didn’t really made up, but modified a little. It’s just that , I just finished preparing this dish and I wanted to share it with you. And it’s especially for them who likes soups and it’s like a low-calorie soup and, since I want to be on a  diet and lose some weight, I decided to surf the net and I searched for many soups and things like that the other day and I found this one and it seemed pretty easy and good and healthy, so that I decided to prepare it. Besides, I’m always feeling dehydrated and while I’m always drinking water, it’s not really helpful, I guess.

Anyways, this is a vegetable soup, nothing fancy, nothing original, however, its taste is really good and the main thing here is, that it’s healthy and full of vitamins!

Well, let me tell you about how it all started. You know, they say, that you should drink lots of water during the day and stuff like that, and I did all those things, I mean, I drink 2 litres of water on average, I guess, however, it’s still not enough, or maybe I’m tired or not sleeping enough or whatsoever, the thing is, that I’m always feeling kind of dehydrated and thirsty and I didn’t know what to do about that. You know, when you are thirsty, you can’t really realize whether you are hungry or thirsty and then you eat and eat and eat lots of food and don’t know what you are eating and things like that and that’s pretty bad, if you want to know the truth. So that, you need to hydrate, however, just hydrating is not enough, I guess. You should rest and relax and have a good night’s sleep, however, it’s not that simple these days with that lifestyle and not enough time for anything and all that work and moving around the city and stuff like that , you know what I mean.

Anyways, I always wanted to have some soup prepared to kind of drink it, you know, because I didn’t want to eat it with bread. You know, people in Georgia eat much bread and it’s like they can’t stand not having bread at home. That is especially in the East Georgia and in Kakheti, where they can’t get through the day without eating some bread. They have these delicious Shoti bread, which you can’t really resist not eating, trust me. So, moving back to my soup, it had been quite some time since I last prepared some kind of soup, so that I really wanted to prepare it now. And, besides, I had these carrots, which were getting old and I had to use them in something, or else, I would have to throw them into trash and I didn’t really wanted that. So that I decided, that when returning home from my aerobics, I would go into the supermarket Fresco , which is nearby the apartment and buy some ingredients for the soup and then prepare it as soon as I got home, because I wanted it to be prepared by morning , so that when I wanted to have some soup the next day, I wouldn’t have to bother preparing it, because it would already be prepared. However, it was already getting late when I got home, so that I would not be able to eat it, as , you know it’s not good to eat after the very evening, besides, I’m trying to lose weight, so that it’s more than a crime to eat at night, you know what I mean.  Especially after those aerobics, which lasts for 1 hour or sometimes even more and it’s pretty good, I must say, I’m really glad, that I chose to go to that aerobics’ club and have some lessons and exercises with this trainer, because she is really great and cares about our fitness and well-being and stuff like that. So, you know, you shouldn’t eat anything after exercising, especially when it is already late, I mean, my aerobics start at half past 7 p.m. and lasts for about an hour or even more and it’s like already 9 p.m. when I go out and get to go home and  I need almost an hour to get home, so that it’s really not time for eating then!

So, when I got nearby our home, I went into this supermarket called Fresco and they have all those vegetables sold there, too, and I wanted to buy this blue or whatever cabbage, because I know, that it’s good for our health and, besides, it’s kind of more delicious, than the green one, and I hadn’t tasted that one in my life, so that that was the second reason to buy it. However, that green one is cheaper than this blue one, if you want to know the truth. Well, I didn’t really need the whole one that I chose, but there was not any smaller ones there, all those other ones were even larger, so that I chose that one and bought it. I also needed a green bell pepper, which was not cheap at all, I mean, this one small green bell pepper cost 80 Tetris or something. And I needed some celery, however, they didn’t have it and then I remembered that I had a pinch at home, so that I didn’t worry about the supermarket not having the celery there.

When I got home, it was already pretty late, I mean, it was 10 p.m. or even more, so that I washed my hands and started preparing the dish at once, because I wanted it soon to be prepared , so that I could write my blogs and sleep well, too.

Now, about the dish! Let’s have a look at the ingredients first and then about the preparing of this vegetable soup!

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 medium carrots, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 small blue cabbage, chopped
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • Salt to taste
  • Paprika to taste
  • Ground red pepper to taste
  • Oil
  • Water

Preparation process

Well the preparation process in that recipe was that you should put all those ingredients into a saucepan and put it on a gas and let those vegetables get tender and then the soup is done, however, I prepared the soup my way, and now I’m going to tell you about it.

First of all, I peeled the onions and washed them and put them into my chopper to turn them into smaller pieces, then I put them in a medium saucepan and poured some oil on them and turned the gas on a high heat, so that they would get cooked quickly. You know, they should get all golden in colour and stuff like that and you shouldn’t burn them, of course! Well, after some minutes of cooking them, they got kind of golden and then I decided to add some carrots to them. I had these two carrots already chopped into smaller pieces and so that I added them to the onions and continued cooking. In the meantime, I chopped the green bell pepper, too, and added it to the dish.

After some minutes, I added tomato paste and salt and paprika and red pepper to the mixture and stirred and let that be like that while I was chopping the cabbage. You know, it was like 900 grams or something like that and I just used half of it and it was pretty much enough for the dish. And when I chopped it, I added it to the dish, too and cooked all those ingredients together for a while. After some time and cooking, I decided that it was time to pour some water to the mixture and make it as a dish, so that I had this already boiled water of 2 litres and I poured all of it in the saucepan and stirred. It had pretty good smell and I knew , that everything would be fine.

It was like that cooking in a saucepan for about another half an hour when I tasted the soup and it was just perfect, I guess, all it needed was a little bit more salt, which I added to the dish and then I tasted it and it tasted good, so that I decided, that the dish was ready and finished and I turned the gas off and put the lid on and let it be like that until the next day, when I would really have some taste of it and see what came out of my ingredients and work.

Preparation process shortly

Well, I want to tell you about the preparation process for this vegetable soup shortly, so that you can just read it quickly and decide, whether you want to prepare it or not.

First of all, you should have those ingredients, I mean, they are just some cabbage, preferably red one, green bell pepper, some carrots and onions. And you should have them all chopped and stuff like that, you know. And you need some tomato paste and paprika and salt and oil and water, of course.

In the beginning, you should pour some oil into a saucepan and add those onions and cook them until they get golden in colour and in the meantime, you can add some salt and spices to them, too, while cooking. Some time later, you can add those chopped carrots and bell pepper to it and cook for a while and then you can add some tomato paste. After some time you should add the chopped cabbage, too, and mix everything well together and then, pour in some water and let everything get cooked for a while, until they get tender, I mean, until the cabbage pieces get tender, in fact.

Then you can taste your dish and decide whether it need more salt  and spices, or everything just tastes good.

Well, this was the shortest version of preparing this vegetable soup. I hope, that this will give you an idea of the soup and you will decide to prepare it, because it’s really healthy and good for the body. And, besides, preparing it is pretty easy and it doesn’t need much time, either, if you want to know the truth.
