The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about different pelmeni and some recipes of how to prepare them, because there are so many things, that you can do with pelmeni to eat them, that you can’t really count, I guess. You know, this pelmeni is a meat filling inside this dough and sealed and stuff like that, I mean, I have written another article about pelmeni and tips about how to eat them and everything, so that you can see it and read that article about that, if you want to know about pelmeni. There are so many things written about pelmeni there, that I won’t write them here again, because that’s not really necessary, of course, to repeat everything written. Well, to tell you the truth, pelmeni is a great dish if you want to have something not so large in portions or want something with meat and light to eat and everything. You can always buy them at the supermarkets and you can buy as many of them as you like and it will just be enough for you and some other people and you will really enjoy eating them, because they are pretty good and one doesn’t simply says “no” to pelmeni, you know.

My parents and brother love eating pelmeni and they usually have some of them with some sour cream and ground black pepper and they just love that stuff and it’s really easy to prepare, too, I mean, it’s always easy to prepare something, when you buy that thing frozen and already assembled or stuff like that and you just have to boil some water and put those things in it and cook for a couple of minutes and it’s done! You know, that is just a great idea and that’s always a good way to eat well and quickly. Well, sometimes you just don’t have enough time for preparing some dishes and stuff like that and that’s a great thing if you have pelmeni frozen in your freezer and you can just take them out and put them into a boiling water and in a couple of minutes it’s already done and ready to be eaten. That’s always helpful in some situations and there are so many occasions, when you just don’t expect something or you don’t expect any guests or something like that and suddenly they visit you and you don’t really know, what to do and then you realize, that you have these pelmeni in your freezer and you can just take them out and in some minutes, the dish is ready and you can serve it to them and it won’t be some kind of a lousy dish or anything, especially if you have some sour cream in your refrigerator. That’s just a dish, which you can serve to anyone and they will love it, if you ask me. So that, you should keep that in mind and if you like that dough with meat filling, you should buy some of them and have them in your freezer just in case. And I’ve written in my other article, that there are different types of pelmeni and if you don’t want to have some meat filling, there are also pelmeni with cheese and pelmeni with cottage cheese and pelmeni with potatoes and pelmeni with mushrooms and pelmeni with cherries, even, so that you have a vast variety of pelmeni and you can choose whichever you like. You know, these cheese pelmeni are pretty delicious, too, and my mother really loves them, though they usually buy pelmeni with meat filling.

Well, let’s see those pelmeni recipes, and decide which one can be a better choice and which one you will like better.

Pelmeni in a pot with mushrooms and sour cream

Ingredients:

  • Onions, 1 medium
  • Pelmeni 500 grams
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Some herbs of your choice (optional)
  • Butter, 50 grams
  • Mushrooms, 200 grams
  • Sour cream, 1 tablespoon

Preparation process

Well, first of all, you should boil some water and add some salt to it and when the water boils, put the pelmeni in it and cook it for 3 minutes.

You should cook those mushrooms in another saucepan and have the stock stored and not spilled, because then you will need it in your dish. Well, maybe you can have some mushrooms bought in cans, however, I don’t really know, if their stock is good for that, but in those bad situations or if you don’t want to cook that mushrooms, you can use those canned mushrooms, I guess.

(Well, you can just buy those canned mushrooms, and slice them and  put the butter on a frying pan and put the onions in it and cook them with the mushrooms and add some salt and pepper to them, too. And when the mushrooms emit their juice, you should take it and mix it with some sour cream and have it like that.)

Then you should chop the onion in a really small pieces and put the butter into a frying pan and add those onion pieces to eat and cook for a while until they get a golden colour. After that, you can add those mushrooms to the onions in the pan and cook them together for about 2 or 3 minutes and at the same time, add some salt to seasoning and that ground black pepper.

You should take a pot after that and put those cooked pelmeni in it on the bottom and put some butter on them and mix them together. Then you should put those mushrooms above the pelmeni.

In a separate bowl, you should put one tablespoon of sour cream and some mushroom stock and mix them together and that way you get the sour cream sauce or something like that and then you can pour it into the pot on those pelmeni and mushrooms and put the lid on the pot and put it into the oven for about 10 to 15 minutes on a 180 degrees Celsius.

After that, the dish is ready to be served! You can chop some herbs of your choice and sprinkle them on the dish in that pot.
