Chicken fillets with sesame and vegetables

The introduction

Hello everyone, I hope, that you are all doing just fine!

In this article I want to tell you about this other recipe of mine, which I just prepared the day before and it was pretty good, I must say, because it had some spices and sauce and things like that. Well, it’s not like a specific recipe or something like that, however, this is what I just made up and it came out good, so that I want to share this recipe with you and write about it so that if I want to prepare it again and forget something, I can visit my blogs and remember everything and, well, if anyone of you think, that it’s worth trying, you can read it and prepare it my way, or you can just prepare it your own way, of course, everything depends on the person and how they like their dishes to be made.

Anyways, this dish was supposed to be like that exactly, I mean, sometimes it’s like you think of something and some dish and then , when it’s time to prepare it, you just change your mind and add some things or skip some things, or maybe you don’t have those exact ingredients at home and you just find out about that in that moment and then you are just lazy to go out and buy those ones and you just skip them and prepare the dish with those ingredients that you have at home, you know. Things happen and it’s not our fault and, well, to be honest, that’s how new dishes are made, I mean, that’s how Caesar salad was made back in those years, when there was no food and he made up something, that would be prepared with those things, that they actually had in their kitchen at that very moment and, you see, this salad is very popular nowadays and everyone has it in their restaurants or cafes or whatever. So that, you should keep that in mind and whenever you prepare some new dish, you should write it down or something, because when you want to prepare it again, you won’t really remember everything that you just added to that dish, if you ask me, so that the next time you will prepare it, you won’t prepare it the same way, I guess.

Well, this time I really wanted to have some chicken fillets and I just thought, that I would buy them and put them into my halogen oven and just cook them like that. You know, it wouldn’t have been too delicious, because it wouldn’t have anything like spices or sauce or whatsoever, however, I would eat chicken fillets and that was the main thing. And, besides, I was pretty tired and it was kind of late in the evening and I didn’t really have much energy for preparing something special with that thing, and, well, I even couldn’t really decide whether I wanted those chicken fillets or not, because I could just get home and sleep. However, then I still decided to buy them, because it’s nearby the bus stop and when I came off the bus and saw this thing, where the real unfrozen chicken things are sold, I just decided to have them anyway and if I didn’t prepare them that day, I would just store them in the freezer and use them some other time, so that it was not a bad idea to buy those chicken fillets after all. Well, I bought this large one and it cost somewhere about 6 Laris, so that it was not that expensive and it was fresh. It costs up to 5 Laris half a kilogramme, if I remember itt correctly to buy chicken fillets with bones. There are also boneless chicken fillets sold in other place nearby the Varketili metro station and it costs a little more, I think.

So that, I had these chicken fillets and I needed some bell peppers and cucumbers and that was all and I decided to visit Fresco supermarket and buy some of those ones there. They had some sale on cucumbers, so that I bought them and the bell peppers and went home. That was when my father came home, too, and he was going to prepare some dish, which he used to prepare some years ago, I guess, so that I decided to have my chicken fillets prepared, too, and then we would have a dinner together, so that I started preparing them.

Ingredients:

  • Chicken fillets, 500 grams
  • Bell pepper, red, 1 large
  • Cucumber, 1 medium
  • Soy sauce
  • Sesame seeds
  • Paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil

Preparation process

So the preparation process started with me cutting that chicken fillets and storing some of them in the freezer, because I didn’t really need the whole one for my dish. I also cut them into smaller pieces and something like cubes and washed them and put them into a bowl. Well, some people say, that you shouldn’t wash the chicken, because it has some bacteria and when you wash it and stuff like that, you spread that bacteria all over it, however, some people say, that you should definitely wash it, though, if it has bacteria, then it will have it all around it, you know, and when you cook it, it will be killed, I guess, because the temperature is not that low or normal or whatever. Anyways, I still washed it.

The next thing I did was to oil those chicken fillet cubes a little and pour some soy sauce and add some salt and paprika and some sesame seeds, too. You know, these sesame seeds are pretty good and go well on everything, I guess, and they are healthy and good for us and one should eat it some time, if you want to know the truth. And, besides, this dish looked pretty beautiful with sesame seeds on it. Well, if you want it spicy, you can add some red pepper or something like that, too, of course. Or you can even prepare some sauce with ketchup or tomato sauce and use it with that chicken fillets and it will be just really delicious. So, I had all those things in that bowl and I mixed them together and then it was time to put them into the halogen oven. I had it preheated for a couple of minutes and then I took this high rack and put it into it and I also had this steaming pan put on that high rack and I just put those chicken cubes on that steaming pan, because I didn’t really want much oil to be left on the cubes and it would go down inside the halogen oven, you know. And I also had that steaming pan oiled a little, so that those things wouldn’t get stuck on it while being cooked.

The only thing that was left was adding those vegetables. I washed and cut the bell pepper and I cut it into two halves and then sliced it, however, you can cut it however you want it, of course, it doesn’t really have that much of a difference. Some people like it, when they are long and some people just like them chopped like onions and things like that. So it’s all up to the cook, you know. I also sliced the cucumber and cut those slices into two halves, too, however, I didn’t add it to the chicken cubes in the halogen oven yet. I just added those slices of red bell pepper to the chicken cubes in my halogen oven and had it turned on 180  degrees Celsius, so that it wouldn’t get burned or dried out or something like that. It was about 20 or 30 minutesuntil I decided, that it was ready. In the meantime, I had them stirred once, after 15 minutes or so, so that I would see, whether chicken cubes were getting cooked well and stuff like that, you know, however, it didn’t really need anything like that. Though, it was the first time of me preparing those chicken fillet cubes in the halogen oven and I still had to pay some attention to my dish, you know. It needs that when preparing something for the first time, because you need to know, what you can do better the next time you prepare it and you should decide, what method to use for preparing that exact dish.

Well, in about half an hour my dish was ready. It was really beautiful if you looked at it, because the chicken cubes were all sesamed and stuff and they had these red bell pepper slices on them and the smell was good, too, so that it was going to be a really delicious salad, if you want to know the truth. I took them out of the halogen oven and put them into a bowl and then I added the sliced cucumber and mixed them together and that was it, now we could eat it, so that I took some sauce from the fridge, you know, there’s this sauce, which I just really wanted to taste and I knew, where it was sold and I hadn’t had seen it somewhere else, so that I bought it at last. It’s a Teryaki sauce and it’s said, that it’s good for chicken and rice and fish and that’s why I bought it, and it’s a pretty good thing, if you want to know the truth. It’s really good with fish, and it depends on you, whether you will like it on chicken or not. Sometimes it’s good with chicken and sometimes it’s not, I guess. Or, maybe I was not up to eating that Teryaki sauce with chicken the other day, I don’t know.

Anyways, I ate that chicken fillet cubes with Teryaki sauce and it tasted pretty good, however, it would be great with any other sauce, too, I guess, because it was really tasty itself. However, it was kind of dry the whole thing, I mean, it needed some dressing or I could add some lettuce, I guess, and it would be lighter to eat. Well, then I combined it with my father’s dish, which he also made while I prepared the chicken fillets and it tasted really delicious with that dish and I’ll tell you , that it had some sausage and eggs and tomato sauce and so that it was kind of a dressing for the chicken fillets, you know, and it all tasted pretty good.

Well, chicken fillets are really good to eat and they can be prepared in many ways and they will still be tasty, because no matter what you do, they are pretty good with everything. so that, when you want to have some salad with some meat, you can easily choose chicken fillets and use them in your salad and it will become more delicious and nourishing and there won’t just be vegetables in your salad and it will be filled with proteins, too, because chicken fillets contain proteins , which are necessary for our body and which gives us energy and , at the same time, it’s a diet product, I mean, the chicken fillets are diet products and people who want to lose weight or have some problems with their gastrointestinal tract eat those chicken fillets because of that. So that, you should keep that in mind and also remember, that you can easily prepare chicken fillets, because they don’t need much time to be prepared or much things to add or much effort to cut them or whatever, I mean, you can just put them into the halogen oven and cook them, or just boil some water and put them  into it and it only needs half an hour or so to be completely ready. Of course, you can cut them into small pieces and that way they will be cooked in much less time, of course, and that’s what I usually do , when I want to have something cooked faster than it usually needs to be cooked. It’s a really good method for everything , such as potatoes. You know, when you want to have some potato puree, and you want to have it fast and not wait for it for so long and stuff like that, you can always cut those potatoes into smaller pieces and put them into some boiling water and just boil them until they are soft and then you can easily blend them in a blender or squash them with fork or something like that and just make some delicious potato puree, it will just need less time, than cooking the whole potatoes and then squashing them or things like that, you know.

Anyways, I  hope, that you will find this recipe useful and you will try to prepare it , too, and you will like it, because it’s really easy to prepare, it doesn’t need much ingredients and it’s healthy and it’s nourishing, too. I know, that I’m going to have this dish many other times and I can even put it in a container and take it with me and eat it, when I’m on the road or somewhere, where I can’t really buy some healthy food, you know. It’s really something great and I just really like dish for that purpose. And, besides, it doesn’t have any juice or stock or whatever for me to be afraid, that it would get spilled or something like that, so that it makes a perfect dish to be carried through a bag or something with you the whole day and you will know, that it won’t get bitter, because it doesn’t really get bitter very quickly unlike some products, which should be in a fridge or somewhere in a cool place, otherwise they will get bad and won’t be eatable, of course. That’s why I can’t really take dairy products anywhere from home or fish products or salads with mayonnaise, because I’m afraid, that they will get bad while I am on the road or on lectures or somewhere else and until I eat them, because, you know, they are  supposed to be in the fridge or somewhere in a cool place whether it is matsoni or sour cream or milk or yoghurt and fish gets bitter really fast, so that chicken fillets are great idea for taking with you and eat it whenever you want, if you ask me.
