Brigadeiro - simple to make with just 3 ingredients!
In Lisbon there is a street urban market with diverse art, food, fashion shops. Its name is LX Factory and here I tried for the first time the Brazilian dessert, brigadeiro.
Brigadeiros can be rolled into small balls and covered with chocolate sprinkles (the classic version – as in the first picture) or can be left as a cake (in the picture below).
What you need for cocoa brigadeiro – not many ingredients means an easy recipe:
- Condensed milk;
- Margarine;
- Cocoa powder;
- Chocolate sprinkles or coconut, whatever you prefer.
How you prepare it:
- Cook over medium-low heat, stir vigorously the sweetened condensed milk and the margarine.
- Add the cocoa powder (skip this step if you want to do white brigadeiro).
- Cook the mixture until it thickens enough, this means you are able to see the pan bottom during stirring.
- Pour the mixture in a dish and let it cool to room temperature. Do the rolls if you want after it is cooled off, but honestly, I love the cake version which is eaten with the spoon.
- Add the chocolate sprinkles (or any kind of sprinkles).
My favourite brigadeiro is the white one covered with coconut.
Thank you, Sharon, for teaching me how to cook it!
The happiness that brigadeiro brings to anyone!
Enjoy! Tell me how it is if you try doing it!
