Hello little friends!

Here we ar again to talk you about something we love in Valencia, and, in general, all Spain: to make a torrà.

Probably you are wondering: what the h*** is a torrà? Well a torrà is a barbecue, but not only a barbecue, it's THE barbecue.

Spanish people looove to spend the day outside with friends, enjoying a beer and good food, and to make a torrà is the best way to put together all these ingredients. And now, I am going to tell you what do you have to do to prepare one with your friends.

First, you should look for the correct place. It is not allowed to light a fire everywehere, we have some places prepare for it, we call them paelleros or just "a place to roast meat (para asar carne)". So, look for them. Many towns and villages have a park where they have these places. It's not hard to look for. If you don't know where to start looking for it, ask someone from here for the place.

Second, you should organise your friends and dedice what are you going to buy. It's a barbecue (no, it's not, it's more than a BBQ, remember that!) but here we have an awesome quality in the food, so choose good: you can't it all you wish!

Sausages and steaks are the kings: longanizas, morcilla, chuletas (de palo y de pierna).

You can buy also: panceta (like bacon, but fresher and better), hamburguesas (burguer), tocino (go, buy and try ahahaha).

Third: look or the firewood or the barbecue prepared. Look for the grill. You need one or two depending on how many people you are.

The forth is to look for everything you need, but I guess you are smart enough to think of all the needs: chairs, table, a big bucket to prepare sangria (I will write a post talking about sangria's recip! :D), knifes, forks, glasses, plates...

Fifth: go and prepare the fire. It takes around one hour or even more to prepare it, depending how big it is. So: take a beer ahahah. When the fire is ready, be careful spreading the embers and and put the meat into the grill. Put salt (it is very important!!).

Note: be careful turning the grill because if you have food thicker than another kind of (example: sausages and burguers have differente thickness) turn it by the way it is not dangerous. I am talking from my experience. Be careful with the cooking because it takes more time to cook a morcilla than to cook a burguer.

And when everything is ready: ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY ENJOOOOOY! And tell me your experience :)

PS. my pictures are from my Falla. We are doing it on the street because some days it is allowed with a special permission.
