National Coffee Day! Great Coffee Shops All Over the World.

Today, September 29th, is National Coffee Day in the United States!

Celebrate the day on an international scale by visiting a great coffee shop in your area.

National Coffee Day! Great Coffee Shops All Over the World.

Here are some of the best coffee shops that I have ever visited, and they are located all over the world. See if one is in a city that you will be visiting soon!

  1. Foxy Loxy Cafe in Savannah, GA, USA. This cafe serves some great coffee, and they even put their iced coffees in a mason jar for you. Located in an old house in Savannah with an upstairs porch, creative seating, and a back patio, this is definitely a place to feel inspired. Bring a notebook, because great ideas are made here.
  2. Cafe Mu in Istanbul, TurkeyCafe Mu is situated on a back, quiet street in Kadikoy and they serve delicious coffee and a relaxing atmosphere. Watch the locals stroll by and enjoy the calming jazz music while you do your homework or write your next novel. Make sure to try Turkish coffee (Turk kahvesi) while you are in Istanbul.
  3. Drift Sidewalk Cafe in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.  This colorful cafe serves an even more colorful spirit, as the open-air concept allows customers to sit in the fresh air, enjoy the great drinks and food that the cafe has to offer, and spend quality time with friends.
  4. Refuge Coffee Co. in Clarkston, GA, USA. This coffee shop started off as a coffee truck and now has its own location in the most diverse square mile of America. They employ and train refugees and have become a vital part of the community.
  5. Afterwords Cafe (at Kramer Books) in Washington DC, USA. This was one of my favorite haunts when I was an intern in DC, and they have amazing alcoholic/coffee drinks. A great place to hear some live music, enjoy a sweet breeze, and see the night life in DC. Afterwords Cafe is open super late on the weekends!
  6. EspressoLab in Istanbul, and other countries of the world! I was first introduced to EspressoLab on the campus of Bilgi University (Istanbul) and it has some of the best coffee I have ever tasted. I have heard that it is located in other cities in South America and in Asia, so check out if it is near you! Pictured below is the EspressoLab on Bogazici University's campus.

Below is a picture of me at the Refuge Coffee Co truck. Even at their "garage" location, you order your coffee from the truck parked outside.
