It is difficult to find a appartment as foreigner. But a student residence is easy to find (http://www.studentenwohnen.ch or http://www.swowi.ch). On those two websites you can find room in a student residence.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are plenty of choice for the food: Italian, sushi, Swiss, Thai, etc. The prices are very variable.

Technorama The swiss science Center but there are also planty of places near Winterthur for hiking.

Is it good to eat out in Winterthur? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes! You have a lot of take aways and restaurants. You can even eat at the university for a good price.

Is the nightlife good in Winterthur? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is great too. There is a place with several clubs. They are not big but fun to go. If you want more choice, you can also go to Zürich (25 minutes by train) During the night you have every hour a train for both ways. Just make sure that you pay surcharge for the night, which is 5 Francs.

What advice would you give future students heading to Winterthur?

Find some friends from the campus who lives also in Winterthur and they are normally very happy to show place or got out with you. If you are open you will find some nice friends. If you are younger than 25 years old ask for a "Gleis sieben" at the train station, whith this one you dont pay for the train after 7 o'clock except the 5 Francs surcharge in the night.
