Erasmus Experience in Vigo, Spain by Ruben
What is it like to live in Vigo? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It is a good life. Vigo is a very safe city with all you may need.
What is the student lifestyle like in Vigo?
Acceptable. Vigo is not an "university city" so you won't find thousands of students in it or much student activity.
How much does it cost to live in Vigo?
150 € is a normal price for a single room in a centric location.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Food in Vigo and in the whole region of Galicia is really amazing. I strongly recommend to try all the typical Galician and Spanish dishes and drinks. They won't disappoint.
What places would you recommend visiting in Vigo?
The City Center and its old town, the different beaches, El Castro, the mountains with great views and, of course, the Cíes Islands!
Is the nightlife good in Vigo? Where is good to go?
Night life in Vigo goes on in the city center. If you like new commercial music Arenal is your area. If the opposite probably you would like it in Churruca more.
What advice would you give future students heading to Vigo?
Make the most of it! Go to the beach, swim in the cold ocean, get into Galician culture, go to traditional festivals and eat and drink there.
