Why did you choose to go to Vigo, Spain?

I come from the University of Dunkirk on the Opal Coast in the North. I took the Dunkirk course DUT TC for two years and while working on the diploma I had the opportunity to apply for a DUCTI at Vigo!

How long does your stay last? How much financial aid do you receive?

My stay in Vigo lasts one year. I'm supposed to receive 150€ a month. However, we are at the beginning of December and I have not received anything yet. It is better to save a little money during the Summer.

What is the student atmosphere like in Vigo?

The student atmosphere is crazy! It is another world compared to France, but then if we leave Erasmus out it is outrageous. It is absolutely necessary to add the association ESN Vigo on your Facebook account, because they program the evenings, travel, chat & beer, bowling, cinema, etc.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Vigo to other students?

I fell in love with the city. Therefore, I cannot answer otherwise. I could describe all the cool corners, breathtaking views, pop jazz bars, karaoke... in short, one must come!

How is food in this country?

Aie Aie Aie! Galicia is the capital of gastronomy in Spain and it is really outstanding! Empanadillas, mariscos, pulpo, tapas and more!

Did you have any difficulty finding accommodation in Vigo?

It was child's play with ESN Vigo!

What is the cost of living in Vigo?

Almost two times cheaper than France if you adopt the same rhythm of life... but that is not possible.

How is learning the language? Have you been to language courses organized by the university?

There are courses offered by the university according to a mini test. Otherwise, you can learn little by little.

What is the most economical way to get to Vigo from your city?

Strasbourg-Vigo plane.

What places would you recommend for partying in Vigo?

My favourite places are: Urzaiz, Loft, Casa de arriba, El mundo, The old town.

And for eating in Vigo? What are your favorite places?

I change every time and I'm never disappointed.

And what cultural visits do you advise?

The Cies Islands!
