Why did you choose to go to Vigo, Spain?

I was studying in England and I needed some nice weather and good food!

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

3 months roughly. I got more or less 350€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Vigo?

Partying until morning from Thursday to Saturday. There was really easy-going people and there was always something to do.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Vigo to other students?

I haven't been at the University of Vigo a lot. The city is not the best in the world, but there are some nice places to party and meet nice people. The people in Vigo are really helpful and friendly with strangers.

What is the food like?

Fish is amazing! There is also good wine and very nice traditional food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Vigo?

Fortunately not because some friends gave me the right contacts.

How much does it cost to live in Vigo?

150€ per month including the rent + bills + living. I would say 400€ per month to live like a king.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I don't know about Spanish courses, but as Italian it was very easy to learn another language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Vigo from your city?

Ryanair flight to Santiago or to Oporto.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Vigo?

Barahunda pub until 1 am or 2 am and then Loft until 7 am.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Vigo?

Cascaras restaurant in Calle Coruña 28. There are really good restaurants in the old side of the city, A Pedra or Praza da Constitución.

The old city side.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Vigo in the future?

Eat Pulpo a Feira, a typical dish in Vigo and some fishes and crabs. They are simply delicious.

For the nightime, go to the Barahunda, then to Loft and to the closer clubs. You can party until 9 am!
