University chaos, help me!
Planning the courses
So, after I received the (devastating) results of my language test Sunday morning (yes, they are working on weekends! ) I spent my whole free day trying to develop a schedule for the rest of the semester. As I usually have a fixed timetable at my home university, that was already a small challenge for me. Half of the courses I wanted to do were not possible anymore because they were all at the same time. So I had to search others that sound interesting.
As I wasn't able to find out how my internet is working in the residence and the woman at the reception was not able to help me (obviously she didn't know neither) I decided to ask my tutor who gave me a username from somebody else to login and explained me how I would get my own one. That was so complicating! Why didn't they just give all students a paper with a name and a password on it and that's it? But finally I managed to login and finally had internet. Slow, but it worked. So I could search for other courses in the Internet and at the nice complicating sheet the woman gave me on Friday. Finally I had a draft of my timetable which didn't look that bad. But, of course, I wasn't sure if that would work as I wanted it to. But I would see the next day at university.
With the internet I found out another quite funny thing - I thought I would be studying at the campus which was right next to my residence. But actually the Economics faculty was in the city centre, about 5km away from the campus and my room. Yay! So I was looking for a bus - fortunately there was a campus bus every 20 minutes and I was even more excited how it would be like over there. But before I decided to relax a bit and enjoy my last free day. Full of excitement that was not a great idea of course... So I decided to test the internet connection and called my boyfriend via Skype. We talked a bit but as I was only away for some days there was not much to tell. I missed him a lot because I didn't know what would wait for me the next day at university. Would I understand anything? How will the professors be like? A lot of questions. And the evening didn't end. I couldn't sleep so I called my parents via Skype as well and they helped me a bit to decrease my fear and let me think more positive about the next day.
So finally I managed to sleep and woke up with my alarm the next day. So let's go, let's do that!
