Why did you choose to go to Salzburg, Austria?
Because I wanted to learn German, didn't want to be so far from home (Hungary), and because I wanted to spend my Erasmus in a beautiful, green place.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship was 4 months long. I received 300 Euros pro month.
What is the student lifestyle like in Salzburg?
It was busy, there were a lot of programms every week. These programs organized sometimes the university, sometimes we - the students.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Salzburg to other students?
Yes, if you have a lot of money to spend for travel, party and culture.
How much does it cost to live in Salzburg?
My college costs 270 Euros pro month, and it is a really cheap in this area. Then you have to buy something to eat, at least 20 Euros. And if you want to travel in the city - a semestercard costs 100 Euros. If you want to travel somewhere, go to a restaurant... You can spend there so much money as you want.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, there are available language courses in the Uni, but it takes at least 3 months to get used to the austrian German.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Salzburg from your city?
From my city (Nyíregyháza - in Hungary) is the most easiest way the train.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The city is full with history, the old parts of Salzburg are beautiful.
