Experience in Rome, Italy by Saba
What is it like to live in Rome? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
I didn't actually live there, I'd rather visited Rome just as a tourist. Rome is one of the most visited cities. So if you ever get the opportunity to visit Rome, don't hesitate even for a single moment. For those who are interested in architecture, Rome is a treasure. There are a lot of places to see. However if you like peaceful and calm places, Rome is perhaps not for you. It is full of people. Specially in public transport its hard to find a place even for standing.
How much does it cost to live in Rome?
If you stay in a university dormitory, and you are not a "party person", you still need a minimum if 500 Euros for a decent lifestyle.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rome? Is there any advice you can give?
There are lots of options for accommodation, however to grab the best offer, you need to act quick and book beforehand.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
When you are in Italy, the choice of food I suppose is quite obvious. Pasta, Pizza and Gelato. However you can easily find food from across the globe there: Asian, Arabic, Chinese, Thai - all kind of restaurants can be easily found there.
What places would you recommend visiting in Rome?
Absolutely Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Capitoline Hill. I would also recommend visiting Basilica of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli - one of the finest Basilicas I have ever been to. And don't forget to visit Vatican City.
Is it good to eat out in Rome? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Rome has good restaurants suitable for all type of budgets, so yes eating out is a good option.
