What’s it like to live in Rome? Would you recommend it? What is city like?

I was born in Rome, so I’ve lived here all of my life, the centre of Rome is very beautiful, but living in the suburbs is better. The centre is too chaotic.

What is the student atmosphere like in Rome?

There are places where the student atmosphere is a lot more developed, for example the university campus of ‘La Sapienza’, but also in ‘Viale Ostiense’, you can find a lot of students there because they have three seats of Roma Tre there.

What are the costs of living in Rome?

I believe that it being the capital the prices are high enough, but there are places you can buy from and eat at and not have to spend too much.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Rome? Do you have any advice?

Sorry, I don’t really know how to answer that question because I was born here and never had to look for any housing.

What’s the food like in the city? Do you have any favourite meals?

Italy is famous for its gastronomy and Rome also has it’s places! There are a lot of places where you can find pizza (which is absolutely my favourite dish! ) the typical cuisine of Rome.

Notice: Don’t eat at restaurants close to downtown (for example those in Piazza Navona) the prices are exorbitant and the dishes aren’t that good.

What sights in Rome would you recommend seeing?

Except the ‘must’ see places (the Colosseo and San Pietro are my favourites), the place where I spend a lot of time are the waterfalls at ‘L’Isola Tiberina’ in Trastevere. I really like it there.

Pizzeria da Remo - Piazza Santa Maria Liberatrice 44 (Testaccio).

What places do you recommend going out to in Rome?

I go to pubs mostly, so I don’t have many chic recommendations. There are a lot of discos, especially at the Eur (in the South of Rome), but if you prefer live music there are a lot places you can go, The Init Club, The Monk Club and The Blackout (all in an area called Casilina).
