An unforgettable year.
I was in Regensburg the whole year. Upon arrival I met almost all the people of Erasmus by a German intensive course taught by the university and some organized activities there, such as trips, parties, etc.
The first few months were very intense, always had something to do and places to go. Is a very beautiful and romantic city.
Residences are generally well priced, no problem to find them because the university takes care of it.
For example, Gesslerheim area, and Vor der Grieb, are nice.
Within each residence is a room where parties are held. Every day there's a party somewhere.
Regensburg has a beer festival called ''Dult'' very seems to Oktoberfest. One is held in September and another in May, takes about three weeks, it's fun!
University is highly organized, people who work there really cares about helping students. About food, you only need 3 or 4 euros in Mensa to have lunch.
You can make a free German course.
There is a sport center on the campus of the university, just pay 15 euros each semester.
A disadvantage is that the buses run on Sundays only every half hour. And at night no buses any day after 11 and a half, or 12. But anyway, the city is well connected.
And there is no airport in Regensburg. From Munich airport, you have to take a bus to get to Freising. From Freising railway station you take a train to Regensburg. This can be done with bayern-ticket.
But most are advantages, sure.
I recommend for party Suite, Gloria and Susi Wong. To take a Cocktail, in ''Carlitos''. About restaurants, a pizzeria very cheap and good is ''Losteria''. If you want typical German food there are many places that are very good, and the ''Beer Garten'' are nice too.
With good weather, it's wonderful to have a barbecue beside the river.
Is very useful to buy a second hand bike for example, are cheap.
I hope you enjoy your time as well!
