My first night in Paris...

Since I was young, I'd always dreamed of coming to Paris, I admired it in photos or on the television and so it became something I wanted to do in my life: to get to see the Eiffel Tower in real life. I fought every day, I pushed myself as hard as I could to focus on achieving it, it was a long road and there were a lot of difficulties in achieving it. It was in my current university: Autonomous University of Baja California Sur in La Paz BCS Mexico, that I got the opportunity to travel to Toulouse, a city in southern France, for an exchange for a semester from September 2015 to January 2016.

When I arrived in the beautiful pink city (Toulouse) I was impressed by France's beauty. I had spent two months studying in Toulouse when I set out on my trip to Paris with my three best friends who I'd met in the city.

My eyes filled with tears and my heart almost jumped out of my chest while I was travelling from Toulouse to Paris by bus, I was only a few hours away from seeing the city I'd dreamed about since I was a little girl in person. It was nearly 8 p. m. when we finally arrived. There I was, a young girl of 20 in the city I'd been waiting to see and that nobody believed I would.

When we got to the hotel, I hurried to drop off my little suitcase in the hostel, I was tripping over my own feet in desperation to get to the Eiffel Tower that night, despite feeling tired from the journey. We left the hostel right away and took the Parisian metro to get to the Tower, we got off at the Bir-Hakeim station (on Line 6), I can still remember every detail.

I couldn't hold back my tears of happiness and my friends and I turned down a street near the Eiffel Tower. That was when I lost all concept of time, there it was, the tower, shining just in front of me, before my eyes was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my life.

I remember recording every minute with my phone while I was jumping for joy and was rushing to get to the tower. My life changed forever on that night, I've never felt so happy, the tower was even more beautiful than I thought or had seen in photos or films. The city, its streets, the cold, its people and its tower was sparkling brilliantly. That night I could appreciate, body and soul, its shine and its beauty that shone and gave me life just being in it. It was the best night of my life.

The city of my dreams will always stay with me, because Paris, Paris made my heart soar, it made me love life and its lights still light up my way back there.
