Playa Cala Comtesa
Play(a)ing around
If you are thinking to go to Plama de Mallorca or you are already here and you are looking for a nice beach to spend your day with your friends or your half, well you should defentely take a look to Cala Comtesa.
I have been to this beautiful beach in Mallorca more then once. Very easy to reach even if you are a tourist and you don't know very well the island and the hidden most beautiful beaches of this amazing place. Cala Comtesa is just 15 min away by car from Palma center (Plaza de Espana), and 35-40 min (according to the traffic) by bus, that will leave you right in front of the entrance to the beach.
You can either rent a parasol (very characteristic) or bring your own, or even find some shadow under the beautiful green that surrounds the beach. It is a very nice place to spend a day with your friends drinking a beer or ordering a sangria to the "chiringuito" right next to the beach (although it is pretty expensive). If you go during the weekend you will most likely find lots of people, turits and locals, enjoy some rest at the end of the week.
Typical "caraibic" water, warm and clean. In front of the beach there is a very small island that you can easly reach by swimming for 5 or 10 min (it is very close) which you can explore or use as an "escape" if the beach is too crowded.
I highly suggest to go there in the morning, since the sun will disappear behind the trees that surrounds the beach and you won't have sun anymore starting from 4:30pm or 5:00pm.
The closest town is Illetes, it is full of places to eat, some of them have very cheap and interesting offers where you can enjoy a glass of wine and paella or "Pa Amb Oli".
If you get bored, you can easly walk to the beach right next to it!

Hidden beach
Unlike the busy, tourist filled beaches you'll find all over the island, this is an amazing little hidden bay you can basically only get to by boat - but it is worth it!
This is a short stretch of sand surrounded by goat covered rocky hills, with a little seafood shack in the middle of it that serves fresh food.
The appeal of this beach is its isolation, it is a great getaway and escape from the tourist traps that make up the majority of Mallorca.
