What is it like to live in Munich? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

There are really a lot of bikes. It is really cool to go through the city by bike, the bike lines are quite good and the city is quite flat. The river crosses the city and you can bath in the river and in near-to-the-city lakes. You can also do some pretty amazing hiking.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Munich? Is there any advice you can give?

It is very difficult to find an accomodation in Munich. That every one knows. But you have to know it is really really difficult to find one. Many quite good announces are posted every day on wg-gesucht for example. But thousands of replys are made instantly so you need to introduce yourself very well and describe you and your hobbies and show very very much interest in the announce otherwise it won't even be read. You need to reply very soon to the announce.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Food you must try in Munich: bretzel (sort of bread), kartoffelnsalat (potatoe salad) and maybe haxbauer (pork meal in a very touristic restaurant by typical food).

What places would you recommend visiting in Munich?

  • Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Frauenkirche,
  • BMW Welt - Olympiapark,
  • Starnbergsee (lake). Accessible with city subway.
