Because the option was offered to me and it is a relatively big city that I liked.

What is the student lifestyle like in Munich?

Well it depends on who you are with, German people are very helpful but they do little to introduce you into their groups.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Munich to other students?

Yes, of course. To go and live abroad where ever it is, is always a good experience.

What is the food like there?

Different. Like everything, you have to get used to it but since it is a big city there is a wide variety of food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Munich?

A lot. It is the most difficult thing here in Munich, you have to move, have contacts...

How much does it cost to live in Munich?

It depends on whether you are in halls or a flat. For halls it is about €300 per month and for a flat it is around €500.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the university?

German is not an easy language, but living in contact with the language 24/7 makes it much easier to learn it.

Yes, I am currently doing a German course for the whole semester.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Munich from your city?

By plane. I took a flight from Barcelona which was the cheapest way.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Munich?

It depends on what music you like, Techno - MMA, Rote Sonne... commercial music - Pacha, 089, Neuraum

Is it good to eat out in Munich? Can you recommend some good restaurants?

For German food either augustiner, vapiano or l’osteria are good places.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Deutsches Museum (German Museum), Englischer Garten (English Garden), the city centre...

What advice would you give future students heading to Munich?

The city is worth it for Erasmus, it is big, full of people and opportunities... there is an atmosphere.
