What is it like to live in Munich? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

my period of stay in Munich has been relatively short as an exchange Msc research student, 2 months.
Munich needs time however little it could be to get used. It took me 4 days to a week
Obviously I would recommend it but its so key to make prior arrangements before.

The city is beautiful, full of historical and religious places built centuries back. Its also properly connected with a great transport network.

What is the student lifestyle like in Munich?

Munich is a collection of cultures.Scholars from allover Europe, Africa, Asia, Americas and many more are found in Munich.

Students speak English and can effectively communicate though Germany is highly preferred.

How much does it cost to live in Munich?

With no Identity card from LMU, the costs are relatively expensive. transport basing on your location(ring).Food is also costly but this depends on location.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Munich? Is there any advice you can give?

Definitely its one of the factors contributing to a hard life in Munich.

Online booking before using available sites is simple for those with prior experience. a lot of sites with scammers.

International Friends in Munich Facebook page is good for short time scholars to get sublet, Medic living for long time scholars, Erasmus among others.

If you find yourself in Munich minus accommodation just like my case, hotels with shared hostels in single rooms, Bunk beds for 6 & 8 Persons. Its expensive but relatively cheap as you still hunt for a shared flat.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

All food is new a part from rice, spaghetti & potatoes. But the fruits are closing the gap. Mango, Pitch, Apple & Grapes.

What places would you recommend visiting in Munich?

Marien Platz, Museums, English garden, The Park, Joseph platz of course, Arianz Arena as a football fan, BMW factory etc

Is it good to eat out in Munich? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Hauptbanof is one good place but expensive. The park has nice meals. I was less for outings

Is the nightlife good in Munich? Where is good to go?

I cant tell

What advice would you give future students heading to Munich?

Munich is an environment for academia, Mixture of cultures, English & German are key.
