Why did you choose to go to Munich, Germany?
I have experienced living in 2 European countries. Both very different culturally. Germany hold a great history and culture.
Munich has been evolving into a cosmopolitan city these last 15 years. The choice of going there was a simple curiosity but also the proximity to other great countries.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I am staying for 1 year. And receiving 450 euro per month. That is way enough.
What is the student lifestyle like in Munich?
If you're a live wire, travel lover, sporty and adventurous you will love Munich. There is always something going on. Loads of events are organised by the international student club what gives you the chance to meet fellow international students.
Drinks are really cheap in student bars and travel to other cities can be done at amazingly low fares.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Munich to other students?
Definitely.
What is the food like?
I wouldn't say that the German cuisine is appealing but they are trying.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Munich?
No. Just contact the stundentewerken and they will find you a place in their residence.
How much does it cost to live in Munich?
Depends of your are a savy or a big spender. But 500 euros per month would be enough.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?
Universities offer german language courses. But german is tricky and very hard to learn so if possible start learning some basics before coming.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Munich from your city?
Flight.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Munich?
For drinks go to the schwabing district ( students district ). There, you will find good bars. You can just continue the night to one of the long list of clubs.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Munich?
Pero-o-peso. A great brazilian restaurant. Moreover they make the best caipirinhas.

- English garden
- Allianz arena
Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Munich?
Be very open-minded and ready to throw yourself out there. And more importantly, try not to always go with people from the same country as you. You are going abroad to experience other culture and learn or improve your language skills!
