It is heaven to be in Mumbai :) I mean, have lived here since the last 20 more years and I still can''t feel that, I have totally lived here! I mean, it is humongous! More than 100 nationalities stay here bonded so well and of course, we are an Unity in Diversity city and a country! Once you live here for a while, you almost become a part of it and it is just wonderful..I would 1000% recommend it and the city is like crazy, it doesn't sleep!!! You can almost eat anything on the road side or at the top notch restaurants and trust me, it's worth to try the basic famous dishes here like the vada pav, the pav bhaji, chole, misal pav, Egg burji and so on...Do visit Mumbai and feel the difference :)

Like the St. Xaviers is famous for art studies, and more, then, Ruia College is good for Sciences, TISS is excellent for social sciences and more..Student life is really cool, it can't be expressed in words, one has to feel it!!!

How much does it cost to live in Mumbai?

INR-Indian Rupees- roughly 25000 is enough including a simple rented house with bills and wifi..so just convert it accordingly into your currency :)

What advice would you give future students heading to Mumbai?

1. Mumbai is safe, good and a good choice to study in
2. Make sure you carry summer clothes-specially April-June ish
3. Rains are fun here ;) so carry rainy clothes too!
4. You can get cheap study books here too so don't worry :)
5. You can get in touch with me for anything that you may need
6. You need a visa of course to come study if you not an Indian!
7. Mumbai University has several libraries and reading rooms for the students. You can find many reference books here. These places are also great for studying. You can save a lot of time by studying in the libraries during the rush hours.
8.There are several places in Mumbai where you can find second hand books. The second hand books stores located in Fort, Mahim and Kalbadevi can surprise you with their extensive collection of books. Here you can get the books in throw away prices, however you will have to bargain a bit.
9. You’ll have to be much organised when it comes to extracurricular activities. On one hand, there is a risk of losing the great learning opportunity, if you don’t participate.
10.The rush hours in local trains are between 8 am to 10 am during morning and 6pm to 10 pm during evening. Try to avoid travelling during rush hours..
11.Beware of thieves and pickpockets. Busses and trains in Mumbai are field with them. Be cautious and keep your belongings safe during travelling.
12. Come Mumbai with an open heart and feel the difference :) I am sure you'll love it :)

All the best!

-Tuks
