Mumbai is a very fast paced city, it never sleeps. It is the safest city in India for women. The city is joyous and people are very helpful
What is the student lifestyle like in Mumbai?
There are a number of colleges and universities in mumbai. Each sector has their own festivals. Stay in hostels is good and there is budget friendly food everywhere
How much does it cost to live in Mumbai?
A moderate lifestyle can cost upto 70,000 INR; including rent and food
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Mumbai? Is there any advice you can give?
Some places in Mumbai will have very rent.. if possible stay in PG. Or with roomates. The rates vary on area. Try finding accommodation on the outskirts. All the areas are very connected. Travelling will not be an issue
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
Mumbai is a cosmopolitan city and you can find all types of Indian as well international cuisine; for all price range. My favorites are the local Maharashtrian food like vada pav, misal pav, samosa pav, Butter milk,aloo paratha, Bombay sandwich, Pani Puri ,sev puri along with dosa and idli
What places would you recommend visiting in Mumbai?
You should visit gateway of India and COST station. The architecture from British rule can still be found there. Visit the local shopping sites like Bandra hill road and linking road, fashion Street and Colaba causeway. The national park and aquarium. Marine drive is also a must see
Is it good to eat out in Mumbai? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
The food scene in Mumbai is very versatile. For cheaper options should try out the various khau gallis. Some are located in buleshwar, Ghatkopar and Mulund. Mahommad Ali road is also good for non vegetarians. You can eat in the iconic Leopold cafe and eat overlooking the sea in restaurants in Marine drive and powaii.
Is the nightlife good in Mumbai? Where is good to go?
Mumbai's nightlife is on always. Can try clubs like playboy, royalty, tryst. There are many pubs and lounges also
What advice would you give future students heading to Mumbai?
Try and enjoy the local culture. Don't hesitate to ask for help. Mumbai police is also very capable.mumbai is costly compared to other cities in India, but has a relatively low cost of living compared to international countries
