It's better to go to the Domo Digital and the Megapantalla IMAX than the museum

How do you get there?

To get to Papalote, you can travel either by public transport, car or metro. If you take the metro, you have to alight at Constituyentes station, and cross the street via the pedestrian bridge. You can see the museum from there, which looks like a bluish colour, tiled castle.

Recommendations:

It's recommendable to visit the museum's website before going, as its opening hours vary from day to day, and if you buy your tickets online in advance, they will be cheaper. In this way, your visit to the Megapantalla is assured, given that it's a very popular museum and it fills up very quickly both at weekend and during public holidays.

Personally, I would recommend just visiting the Megapantalla IMAX and the Domo Digital Banamex, as the museum itself is very much aimed at very young children, so it's difficult for people of our age to have as much fun as they do. There are magic chemistry activities, a road safety section, scientific explanations, a test of the five senses, and a craft section. It's a really good museum if you are a child.

The Megapantalla IMAX

As an adult, I recommend going to the Megapantalla IMAX, which is a huge cinema screen the size of a five-storey building, where they lend you some special glasses to allow you to see in 3D during a 50 minute screening. The showings change from time to time, but there are almost always two to choose from. When I went, we could see either "Wonders of the Invisible World" and "The Galapagos Islands", both of which were of a very high quality in terms of the information given. You will leave feeling amazed, not just from the showing you have seen, but also in terms of how well-cared-for and clean the room is.

Domo Digital Banamex

The Domo Digital is another unbeatable experience, but not as much so as the Megapantalla. In the Domo, you will always find screenings related to outer space and scientific discoveries up to the present day. The quality of the images is really good, whilst the Dome itself is of a large size and is equally as well-cared-for as the Megapantalla. It's recommendable to arrive 15 minutes beforehand to ensure that you get a good seat. If you fancy something to eat, you can go to the food court, where you will find desserts, pizzas, sushi, etc. Or, you could also go to the food stands that line the streets outside the museum, which are much cheaper.

The area around the museum is very safe and quiet, and is located close to other museums and La Feria amusement park. I really don't recommend going to the museum, but I do the Megapantalla and the Domo Digital - you won't regret it! Wear comfortable shoes and take a decent amount of money with you, as entry to both the Megapantalla and the Domo will cost you $200 Mexican pesos (approximately $10). Food within the museum complex is not very cheap, nor are the souvenirs at the gift shop... they are cool though!
