Unraveling the beauty behind the orange rooftops - Lisbon

I've been travelling over the past few years but no city managed to charm me with its authentic touch as much as Lisboa did.

I was first introduced to Lisbon when I moved there in 2014 to volunteer in a School stationed on the yellow line (Rato). I was a part of a youth organization that is based in more than 100 countries and luckily I was selected to be in Portugal. As soon as I landed and was driven to my new apartment to meet the other international volunteers, I was in love with how beautiful the architecture I was seeing around as we were driving around I noticed that Lisbon is no like any other European country. Tourists were not all over the place, it quite a surprise but I guess that was one of the things that attracted me to the country was the fact that It was not visited by many prying eyes or as they are called tourists.

I was staying in a neighbourhood called Campo Pequeno which is quite a good location, near several metro stations and walking distance from one of the biggest universities in Lisbon, ISCTE. During my first days in Lisboa, I was able to notice some cultural differences as it is part of living in a foreign country. Portuguese people are extremely friendly and as part of my previous experience (most have great taste in music), I was fortunate to meet local musicians as it was one of the things I was interested in doing. Not to mention that the music scene in Lisboa is quite amazing.

Now moving the food/ drinks I would say I had a lot of good meals in Lisbon, one of my favourite spots is LOST, it has the best view, a great date spot. If you're feeling like a jug of sangria or just simply a good salad or A GOOD goat cheese toast with some honey, it is the place to be. As for the drinks, there are many Gin bars, such as Gin lovers, Pensao Amor (good cocktails), Park (with a beautiful view of the city), or if you're on a tight budget, you  can simply buy few bottles of wine or go to those cute bars across the parks and buy yourself a sangria for fifty cents and chill under the sunlight.

I've been going back and forth to Lisbon ever since 2014 and every time I get to explore new spots, such as Cinema Sao Jorge ( they've got the best pizzas and drinks) and personally I like the idea of having a meal or drinks in a cinema.

As for the nightlife, I've always spent hours and nights around the pink street, going to Copenhagen bar, and all the bars around them, they are just great and the best club would be LUX.
