What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Lisbon, the capital of Portugal, a nice country in Europe with some very great food and a lot to do! I recommend it because Lisbon has a great weather, with lots of hours of sun per day. As a capital, you have very good places that you could work one day, there are lots of nightclubs and bars with cheap prices to drink something at night, and one thing that I really love in Lisbon are the rooftops where you can see a huge part of the center of the city! It´s really amazing at night! Despite that, you also have so many beautiful beaches around the sea coast, and you´ll want to see them all!

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Here in Lisbon we normally have classes in the morning. They normally start at 8:30h and after that, you can go for lunch with your friends somewhere nearby your faculty and then maybe go back to classes. After you can go to th gym or see the sunset on a rooftop somewhere; go shopping, see a movie on cinema,...

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

I think 500/600€ per month... But I´m not 100% sure.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?

You can find some accommodation on Facebook pages, sites, or even on your new Faculty! Some of them here have boards where the landlords in Lisbon put their houses to rent with their phone numbers.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I love to eat all type of dishes. We have very good restaurants to eat sushi, classic homemade burgers that are always very well decorated, and our Portuguese "TAPAS" are the best! You HAVE TO eat Pasteis de Belém (pastéis de nata) and pasteis de bacalhau! What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?

I can tell you some places that belong to the BIG LISBON Terreiro do Paço/Cais do Sodré(center), Parque das Nações, Cascais, Sintra.

Is it good to eat out in Lisbon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Lx Factory is a cool place with lots of street art where you can go shopping and eat very good! there are many restaurants there. Mercado da Ribeira; Hamburgueria do Bairro; Honorato; Italian Republic;... and if you want more specific places you can go to my instagram account: @ filipejsantana

Is the nightlife good in Lisbon? Where is good to go?

Of course! You can have a drink and walk around BAIRRO ALTO. It´s a place with tinny little streets full of bars with really low prices! Perfect to drink some beers or cocktails for then go out for a club! There you have Urban Beach, Lux, Lust in Rio. These three are my favorite ones, and inside them, the prices are a little bit higher than outside in the bars.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lisbon?

be curious and live each day like it´s your last!
