Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

I've been there 4 years and I completely fell in love with the city. I promised myself I would have gone back to Lisbon.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I'm staying here for a whole academic year(9 months). I will receive 230 euros per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

I found the Portuguese university system completely different from those I was used to. You have an exam every 1/2 months and above all project groups where you have to prepare a specific topic to discuss in class.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

The city is pretty, not very big and you can find all sorts of facilities.

What is the food like?

If you're coming to Lisbon you have to try "bacalhau", a Portuguese typical fish cooked in hundreds of ways. A part from fish, Portuguese pastry is something special.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

Yes, just because I wanted to find the perfect room for me, otherwise there are several website where you can find a room or even the Erasmus associations

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

Compared to my home city, Lisbon is cheaper.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I've been studying Portuguese for 2 here at my home university, but when I arrived the pronunciation was so different and I had some difficulties to understand. Every University organizes language courses for foreign students.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

By plane

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

Enjoy the city, the weather and the Portuguese lifestyle.
