What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Lisbon has a very unique environment. It combines the old and traditional streets, buildings and customs with the new and vibrant fluxes of people and entertainment.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

The academic environment is very friendly and helpful. Everyone is very willing to help you in any trouble with school, and social integration comes very easily. The teachers are good and somewhat helpful but VERY rigorous.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

Lisbon is very expensive for us portuguese, but foreign visitors tend to find it affordable. But if you know where to go, more specifically where to eat and buy stuff you'll be okay.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?

I have never needed to find an appartment, but i would recommend online websites and ALWAYS go to the house to check it out first.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is amazing. For people who are not very used to seasoning and spices beware. we like our food filled with flavor. Try traditional plates like "cozido à portuguesa", "bacalhau com natas" "feijoada" and "arroz de pato"

What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?

I would recomend the principal monuments like Belem Tower, Cristo Rei, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Lisbon Castle and so on. But also visit the traditional streets of Alfama and Bairro Alto.

Is it good to eat out in Lisbon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I recommend traditional small places, not the fancy restaurants, that are usually disappointing. If you are visiting Alfama or the small curvie streets to the castle, try family restaurant or a "fado house" with a traitional meal.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lisbon?

Beware of your studies, be well prepared and organised it can easy get chaotic.
