What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

To live in Lisbon as a student is very interesting, especially there is a lot of places to party, great beaches near and also a lot of sun.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Great if your study is not too much demanding. Mine it was :( But of course I've seen many things after all. I visited all the monuments, museums, shopping malls and the most important: great parties in Bairo Alto :) Take time also to visit Madeira, Algarve and Azores (you'll need some extra money)

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

Renting a place is the most expensive thing. I was paying 250€ per month (costs included) in Arroios, which is 7min with a metro and 25' walking distance. Food, metro, drinks..normal prices, not a lot comparing with other capitals.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?

No, I searched through different web pages 1 month earlier and found a perfect place on : www.oxl. com

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

I cooked a lot at home, so healthy:) Outside I ate mostly salmon with rice and fries. Very popular dish is bacalao.

What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?

Sintra, Cascais, Costa Caparica, Lisbon Ocenarium, Santa Justa lift, Belem Tower, Castle of Sao Jorge, Discovery Monument, Vasco de Gama bridge (Parque das Nacoes)

Is it good to eat out in Lisbon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

There are some good, local and cheap restaurants in Martim Moniz - Mouraria. In some you have to make previous reservations.

Is the nightlife good in Lisbon? Where is good to go?

Bairro Alto for a start and later some dancing clubs in Cais de Sodre.

What advice would you give future students heading to Lisbon?

Take the best of everything what this city offers.
