What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Lisbon is a very beautiful there’s not a place on the planet where the sunshine is as beautiful as it is in Lisbon! Grand palaces and modern buildings spread across the city making Lisbon’s unique and sophisticated architecture shine. Lisbon is also a multicultural city with neighbourhoods and street named after Portugal’s old overseas colonies, most neighbourhoods in Linha de Sintra have a majority of African immigrants some are a mix of Asians, Africans and Portuguese businesses and people! Lisbon is booming in the summer with tourists from all over the world buying, walking, eating, taking pictures and most importantly having a great time in the city’s most popular central locations Rossio and baixa de Lisboa! Beautiful pristine beaches are abundant in Portugal and Lisbon included. Amongst all the good things Lisbon is also very safe compared to neighboring city capitals in Europe.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

It’s fun, tranquil and every thing just works for the good of those who want to study.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

In my opinion in the last 3-4 years prices in Lisbon have spiked so expect to at least spend something like at least €1500 per month as a student if you want to live in a nice area with no imminent danger and save in transportation costs!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?

NO. If you have a good budget ( like €500 and above) no it isn’t, because you’ll automatically be able to find good accommodation anywhere in Lisbon!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

AMAZING. In my opinion the best cuisine in Europe because it’s varied from traditional pastry ( absolutely delicious) to The most refined and well executed codfish dishes! Expect to find whatever you eat or like to eat in any restaurant in Portugal done in the Portuguese way but very good!

What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?

Rossio, Praça do comercio , Colombo Mall, tower of Belém, Belém neighborhood to taste one the gems of the Portuguese traditional pastry “Pastéis de Nata” sold in Pastéis de Belém restaurant, Jerónimos monastery, Oceanário de Lisboa, Bairro Alto ( in the heart of the colorful and exciting Portuguese nightlife), Praia da torre and many many other places!
