Experience in Lisbon, Portugal by Maria
What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
It's an amazing city to live in. Lisboa welcomes you and you fall in love with the city as soon as you're installed.
How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?
It is much cheaper than living in Madrid, London, Paris or most capital cities in Europe.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?
It is not too difficult. Look around websites but also check in the University; there are usually some accommodation ads.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
The food is awesome and you can eat amazing food for cheap!
Don't forget to try Bacalhau com Natas and Arroz de Pato, but for students, we just usually go for Bitoques or Prego/Bifanas. And eat Sardinhas in June! They're great and fresh!
What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?
Everything. Get lost in the city and explore it! It's beautiful.
Is it good to eat out in Lisbon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
It is quite great, actually. Not too expensive, usually. Portugalia should not be missed, even though it is not too cheap.
Is the nightlife good in Lisbon? Where is good to go?
It's great! Bairro Alto FTW!
What advice would you give future students heading to Lisbon?
Enjoy your time, learn some Portuguese and don't forget to stop by some Fado houses.
