What is it like to live in Lisbon? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Lisbon is an amazing city to live in. The city has a great weather, people are very friendly and the gastronomy is to die for. I would absolutely recommend it!
What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?
The student lifestyle is great. We certainly need to study a lot if we want to have good results, but the academic spirit is a good characteristic of Portuguese students. We know how to balance study time and party time. In Lisbon students can have a healthy life.
How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?
It doesn't cost too much. You can find a room to live between 150€ and 300€. Supermarkets and restaurants are cheap, it depends on the lifestyle you want to have here. If you want to go to a fancy and luxuous restaurant you have to pay much more, but it's possible to find cheap places to go. Discos are also good and cheap and you can also find a lot of bars with a great environment and with a fair price to pay for.
Is it difficult to find accommodation in Lisbon? Is there any advice you can give?
Yes, use the website called http://www.uniplaces.com! It's really nice and efficient.
What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?
It is perfect! The best dishes are "bacalhau espiritual", "bacalhau com natas", "naco na pedra" and "bitoque".
What places would you recommend visiting in Lisbon?
Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Torre de Belém, Baixa, Chiado, Sé de Lisboa, Portas do Sol, Terreiro do Paço, Miradouro da Graça, Arco da Rua Augusta, Jardins da Gulbenkian, Praia do Guincho, Cabo da Roca, Jardim Zoológico.
Is it good to eat out in Lisbon? Can you tell us your favourite spots?
Docas, Santini, Vela Latina, Pano de Boca.
Is the nightlife good in Lisbon? Where is good to go?
"Urban Beach", "Lux", "O Bom, o mau e o vilão", "Park", "Main", Bairro Alto.
What advice would you give future students headed to Lisbon?
Enjoy Lisbon and don't leave without tasting our speciality "pastéis de belém"!
