Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

I chose to go to Lisbon because I wanted to learn Portuguese and because I have always wanted to go there on vacation. At the end I ended up in Erasmus, which is surely better.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months. 230 euros per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

You go to courses in the mornings and afternoons and then at night, mostly at the weekend, you go out to clubs, bars and Erasmus events.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

of course, I would. Lisbon is plenty of things you cna do, of beautiful and cozy places and amazing to discover.

What is the food like?

really good. I'm Italian so I can say I'm choosy about that ;)
The Portuguese cuisine is delicious, in particular the fish.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

no

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

around 160 euros per month for the food. everything else is extras.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

at the beginning it's really difficult. But after one month you get used to it and it becomes easier. Yes there are, in Faculdade de Letras, Universidade de Lisboa, Cidade Universitaria.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?

I would recommend to go to Urban Beach on wednesday

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

the Castle, the Ruinas do Carmo, the city center (from Marques to Rossio- Martim Moniz), Praça do comercio and all the miradouros.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

I would suggest to go to Lisbon in the second semester because the weather is really good, if you like the warm.
