Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

Mainly because of the weather. Experience a new culture. The chance to go to the beach more often.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Living the good life. A perfect mix of studying and enjoying your time in Lisbon.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

The city yes. I had to face some difficulties with the university, but at the and; they were all very friendly and helpfull.

What is the food like?

Not as delicious as I had expected. The food can be best characterized as 'back to basic'. Fresh food, lots of fish and vegetables.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

Was quite easy, by internet I found a residence EOL. It cost me about 350 a month.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

It's expensive, mostly because you want to do a lot and experience everything. But overal, Lisbon is cheap compared to other earopean cities.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

To me it was impossible to learn the language because of three reasons: lessons offered by the university were insufficient, the portuguese people speak well english, and because you mainly hang out with other international students who don't speak the language either.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

Airplane.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?

Bairro Alto to start with.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

Plenty.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Alfama is the best area of all!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

Rent a car, buy a tent, go to the south and sleep on one of the many lonely beaches!
