How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

6 months? i think 250-300 euros monthly is OK to eat, drink, and transportation. plus 250-350 for a room renting. so a total of about 500-650 euros is OK.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Students eating together in a campus restaurant. I saw many time students performing some kind of entertaining acts in the green areas surrounding university. Most of course have projects, each project should be made by cooperation of 4 students. this off-course makes them know each other well.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

Lisbon, is the city I lived in. it is beautiful city, u can see green areas and parks around you everywhere. the city is well organized and connect well with good transportation means "bus, taxi and the most important mean "metro", even airoport is very easy to be reached via metro.
For university: I studied in Institute Superior Techno.

What is the food like?

There are many many many restaurants allover the city, especially around the university, however all restaurant are full in the launch time, it happen to find people standing in rows waiting to enter the restaurant to start eating.
For me As a Muslim, there are few restaurant that presenting Islamic meat or food, most of these shops is in Anjose and intendente

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

you can find places ranging from 250-375 euros for a room

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

I think if you have 700 euros, you can live well.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available in the University?

people speak their language in streets, supermarkets, shops, but I always find some people who can speak English and give help. People were really helpful in Portugal

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

By Plane, as I am from Egypt. the ticket from Cairo to Lisbon "go and return" about 500 euros

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?

For me, I used to go to malls, they are two famous malls in Lisbon "Vasco Dajma" and "Colombo"

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

As I am Muslim, there are two place providing Islamic food: a Turkish restaurant in Anjos, The mosque restaurant in Sao Sebstao.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Sao Jorge Castle, Military Museum, Sintra, Cascais

Is there any other advice that you could give to future students who are going to Lisbon?

Be careful about weather in winter especially if you come from warm country like Egypt. You should take very strong umbrella other wise you will lost many fragile umbrellas like me. It rains heavily however the temperature does not drop sharply.
