Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

Because the IST Lisbon was the only choice to have a double degree.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My studies period in Portugal took 7 months, I received 150 € for each month there.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Interesting, I was very curious to know much more about Lisbon and the Portugal.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

Of course, particularly the university.

What is the food like?

Good but not so light for my tastes.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

No, because I got a contact from a colleague in Italy.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

180 € for the rent + 150 € for the remaining needs.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Well, the written Portuguese could be easy to understand to an Italian, but the pronunciation is really difficult (at least for me). Nevertheless after few weeks the comprehension rise. At the IST there's a Portuguese course.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

By plane.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

Pastelaria de Belém.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, the Oceanarium and the Expo '98 area.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

Try to find interesting people and good luck for your studies.
