Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?
I was furthest place from home where I can go study. Warm. Ocean.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
5-6 months, 450 Euros/month
What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?
Intensive, sight seeing, out going, parties, museums and studies too.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?
No doubt, doing it every time I speak to younger students.
What is the food like?
Lot of see goods, but we were able to make our home dishes.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?
Nope, accidentally found flat where hostel was.
How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?
I was spending ~600 Euros/month, with rent, food, bear, traveling and so on.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes, it is not difficult. We had courses.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?
By the plane, easiest. Most economical always would be auto stop traveling.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?
Bairro Alto, place where anything could happen.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?
Nope, was not going to restaurants.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
In Lisbon, anywhere around squares, museums, ocean.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?
Try to travel as much as you can. Save on drinks or parties, but spend it all for travelling, I do regret that I did not go to Algarve and Madeira. Event to go to Maroco is cheap from Lisbon.
