Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

I just always wanted to go there plus the portugese people are really outgoing and fun to be around.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

3 months, 1200 euro

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

A lot of parties. I did my internship in summer so no idea about actual studying but then what I loved were all the open-air concerts, hanging out in the parks. And the beach!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

The city definitely!!!!

What is the food like?

Well I got to eat the snails for the 1st time and it wasn't that bad. Apart from that I guess portugese cuisine is not my favourite. But that is quite personal so...

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

no

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

depends on lifestyle (especially on how much you party and also how many excursions etc you take, cos visiting other cities, beaches faraway, monuments can be not so cheap), for me it was around 600 euros/month, maybe a little more

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

it helps if you know another latin language a bit, portugese is not the easiest.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

plane, lufthansa or ryanair (both not direct)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?

bairro alto

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

sintra!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

take some windsurfing classes!!
