Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

Because I was in Lisbon for holiday and I liked a lot the city, the architecture and the light.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship is of seven months and I receive 430 euro for month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

Is really nice the lifestyle in Lisbon for students, because there are always a lot of interesting thing to do, and please to discover. The dimension of the city is perfect, is not too small so you can have different experience and events and is not too big, so you can start to have some routine also in a short period of some months.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

Yes, I recommend the city and the University.

What is the food like?

The food is good, here they use to have one dish with meat or fish and with rice or potatoes or vegetables. It's always good and I really like their soup, you can find everywhere and is cheap and healthy, perfect to have lunch around the city.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

It was not so easy because some accommodation are not so good, but finally after one week I found some that I really like.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

With my scholarship I can pay my rent and my life, is not enough but I normally spend one hundred euro more.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

From Italian the Portuguese language is easy and after a short period I started to understand well and speak also.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

It is easy to go to Lisbon by plane, it's cheap and take less time.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?

Bairro Alto is the most popular place in Lisbon for Erasmus, and It's good for the first period, than I recommend Cais do Sodré and than, a lot of small and hidden places the you can find only if you really search for them, and sure, if you ask to some Portuguese guys.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

Every restaurant that it is called "Tasca Portuguesa". Traditional food is always the best choice.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Lx Factory is a very cool please, also, small art galleries in Rua de São Bento, and the zone of Anjos.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

It's also nice to travel around Lisbon, discover really nice beach, surfing and visit other cities.
