Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?
To be honest, that was my only choice. My university has agreement with two Portugal university, which located in Lisbon
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I took scholarship money for 5 months and it was 350€. If you are not a party boy/girl, if you can live without going to a party everyday, you can live with 600-700€ for a month (include expenses and rent)
What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?
It is comfortable. but teachers will not tolerate you just because you are an Erasmus. I was student of statistic department at University of Lisbon, and i studied more than Portugal students because if you don't know Portuguese, it means you have disatvantage in some courses. Mostly it depends on your teacher
Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?
I can recommend Lisbon but if you have another choice you should consider them too.
What is the food like?
Fish, fish, fish. There are 1000 different recipies with fish.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?
No i didn't. I used free "rental house" websites.
How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?
600-700€ for each month
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
if you want to get a language course, you pay 50€ for once. the course is twice in a week for 5 months. At the end of the course if you can success from the exam you will take a certificate
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?
By plane. I bought my ticket 7-8 months ago and i paid 202€ with return. (Probably your travel will take like one day because of the indirect flight)
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?
Bairro Alto
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?
Around Rossio but i warn you they are not cheap.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Sintra, Belem, castles and view sights which called Miroudora (i don't know how is it spells)
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?
There are no cheap flights to other countries, i recommend to do interrail after your erasmus and you can return to your country with trains.
