Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

It was very far and very different form polish lifestyle. Sun, ocean, lost of erasmus people, no winter, big city, southern culture. University was not that big issue because i think that what you learn depends of what you study on your own.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

i had 400euros of my erasmus grant so it covered my flat rent and there was some money left (flat was around 300)

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

It's awesome, there are hundreds of international students and so many things to do everyday that you have to make tough choices sometimes haha

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

ofcourse i would, i think that it is very best destination for studying and living as well. my university was very organized and i had all my classes in english so i would recommend it also.

What is the food like?

food is good if you know how to cook:) but in lisbon there is a lot of good cheap restaurants especially if you step out from most crowded and tourisic places.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

ive found my accomodation on my own through internet.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

was worth every penny

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

it was the only drawback actually. my university offered me a course but later they told me that they dont have places. I learned only couple of frazes on my own.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

hich hiking? I traveled by plane but you have to book ticket waaay in advance if you want to get a reasonable price (from poland it is always going to be expensive)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?

For beggining ofcourse the classic barrioalto-cais do sodre but there is a lot of "underground" places in other districts that are really cool. it's my secret i wont tell you haha

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

sushi restaurant in almirante reis (cheap and good)

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

Buy a surfboard :)
