Erasmus Experience in Lisbon, Portugal by Alessia

Why did you choose to go to Lisbon, Portugal?

Because I study portugues at the university and I'm stay here to do a stage in IADE university. I already been here in Lisbon, some years ago I done an erasmus experience here.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I'll be here 2 month and 2 week and I recive a scholarship of 430€ per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lisbon?

I don't know. I think it's like a normal western lifestyle.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lisbon to other students?

Yes, I recommend.

What is the food like?

The food is good. Very spicy.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lisbon?

No, it's not too difficoltà.

How much does it cost to live in Lisbon?

It's not an ecpencive city. I think 500€ per month more and less.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

I'm italien so portugues isn't difficult to lern. I never done a course at University in Lisbon because I already study portugues in my University in Italy.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lisbon from your city?

The esasiest way to travel here is by plane but is not economical.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lisbon?

Students sould go in bairro alto, an area where there are a lot of locals.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lisbon?

In Alfama, the characteristic area of the city, there are a lot of restaurants where you can eat typical dishes.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Every part of the city is full of history.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lisbon in the future?

Yes I have...a lot of characteristic places like historical local are not publicized and they are in little street. So it's recommended to frequent portugues people.
