What is it like to live in Liege? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Liege is called "the city on fire" and indeed, it is! Liege is the place to be if you like to party hard and make new friends.

There is a quote saying "Strangers are friends waiting to happen"... and in Liege you'll find a lot a friend "waiting to happen! ", wherever you want to go you will cross the path of smiling people enjoying their own life and making yours more interesting.

The city is beautiful even if the weather is not. In Liège you have a lot of old place to visit and historical places very interesting.

What is the student lifestyle like in Liege?

A typical day of a student is half of the day lectures, a quarter at the cafeteria of the school playing cards and drinking beers while laughing out lound and having fun, then party all night long! The image of a student is a young guy smiling and drinking beer or whatever but always enjoying life!

How much does it cost to live in Liege?

From my point of view it reasonnable. But many Erasmus students coming from countries like Spain, or western Europe will find it a bit expensive!

If you know where to go you can have a pils for 2€ and a special beer for 3. 6€. For a good restaurant you have to count 20/30€ per person.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Liege? Is there any advice you can give?

There are a lot of choices to live. You'll find everything on the web!

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Belgians favourite dishes is: french fries (typical from Belgium not France! Never do this mistake! ) with mayonnaise!

In Belgium you can find every kind of dishes! For me Belgian cooking is the best; )!

What places would you recommend visiting in Liege?

Guillemins station! One of the biggest in Europe! You have the impression of being in an airport and it is really wonderfull to see! Historical centre has a lot of information to give you about the past of Europe!

And finally if you want to enjoy a real "Liege night" Le Carré is the place to be to make party! It is in the centre of Liège, it looks like a "sqaure" with some streets where you can only find bars offering different kind of ambiance, drinks and parties.

Is it good to eat out in Liege? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Chez Lequet is a place where you will be able to taste a typical belgian meal for a good price and really teasty!

Is the nightlife good in Liege? Where is good to go?

Night life is the most popular thing in Liege! You can hear that Liege is the city that never sleep! Liege is the place to be for party!

What advice would you give future students heading to Liege?
