What is it like to live in Liege? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

In general the people are "cool". They help others easily.

What is the student lifestyle like in Liege?

Students go out much. There are many clubs and cafés where they can go out at night. But if you don't live in the centre city (or near), the buses don't drive very late!

How much does it cost to live in Liege?

The euro has gone up prices! For example: I recommend students to cook rather than go to the restaurant. The museums are free the first Sunday of the month. There are some second hand stores very cheap where you can find clothing with the best quality for a cheap price (Oxfam, Eureka... ) in the city center.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Liege? Is there any advice you can give?

I don't know.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

"Boulet frite" sauce lapin. I let you discover.

What places would you recommend visiting in Liege?

The "Parc de la Boverie", it's a big park, it's not in the center but near, in the sunny days it's very nice. In October there is "la foire", you'll see. In December it's Christmas market + activities (outside ice-rink... ). From may a lot of concerts outside and music festivals in the summer. Every Friday in Outremeuse (its a area near the center) there is the flea market....

Is it good to eat out in Liege? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

If not for eating I suggest you cook yourself, because the true restaurants are expensive... There are kebap "restaurant" cheaper but you can't eat that every day!

Is the nightlife good in Liege? Where is good to go?

In the "carré" and around. It's the place with a lot of café and "place du marché". But you have to be careful because there are not that nice people.

What advice would you give future students heading to Liege?

Be careful with alcohol, the student drink a lot. And the beer because in Belgium the beers are strong (but I advice you taste a "special beer").
